Awareness of your personal cognitive bias (44:20): Everyone is biased. Make an effort to educate yourself on your bias and come up with a strategic plan to minimize impact. 

Selling candidates on your unique value (21:20): What is going to make your company stand out? Every organization has different shades of the same pitch, but what makes your company truly special? 

Thinking beyond the role you’re hiring today (35:20): People tend to hire other people for the exact job that needs to be done today. Instead of hiring for just a perfect fit today, consider a candidate with a broader organizational fit who can grow with the company. 

On hiring for diversity (30:30): If you do not start hiring diverse talent early, you are already at a disadvantage. Make sure hiring inclusively starts as close to day one as possible.
